Eleven Views of The Silmarillion

A PICTURE GALLERY OF
PERSONAL BOOKBINDING
PROJECTS, 2021–2024

A selection of rebinds, all of The Silmarillion, completed between 2021 and 2024. Most of these projects involved the incorporation of at least one new technique, although this isn't necessarily obvious from the single image provided. Three of the projects shown herethe UNIVERSITY PRESS fourth impression rebinds (projects #23, 25, and 28)—I have covered at length elsewhere; see Gebrochene Rücken links at end of this post. My inability to photographically capture detailmaterials and tooling in particularis, unfortunately, a consistent feature of all eleven images. Simple bad lettering, on my part, is also to blame; the camera doesn't (always) lie.
